Council of Rectors

Draws up recommendations on issues regarding higher education, improvement of education process, scientific development and improvement of facilities and resources of higher education institutes.

Prepares proposals on effective management of higher education and scientific activities carried out by republican government bodies, on improvement of national policy and its implementation in the sphere of higher education and science, aimed at improving the efficiency of the use of material and financial resources in the sphere of higher education and science and improvement of the quality of education.

Analyzes and expertizes drafts of normative legal acts, including educational standards, international treaties of the Republic of Belarus, governing the work of higher education institutes and scientific activities; draws up and submits proposals on social protection of workers in the system of higher education.

Offers proposals to republican government bodies on awarding the higher education system management with government awards; participates in discussions on distribution of scholarships, grants and additional premiums of the President of the Republic of Belarus and Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus, considers candidacies for the positions of rectors of the republican higher education institutes, participates in forming reserves for vacancy filling of the positions of rectors of higher education institutes.

Strengthens the ties between higher education institutes and scientific organizations, associations of entrepreneurs on issues regarding students’ training, employment of graduates, implementation of scientific achievements into production and carries out purposeful activities to develop all-round ties between higher education institutes of the Republic of Belarus and foreign partners.
